The first two full days of your life were in the hospital with me. We were happy to bring you home on Wednesday, right on time! The nurses were very helpful at the hospital and they LOVED you! Every shift change a nurse would come into my room and see you and say "you're her mom? We love her in the nursery!"
Your birth was scary but both of us made it through!
You were left with a nasty head wound from the vacuum. There was a ball of fluid from where they attached the vacuum to your head. It looked pretty rough and I wouldn't let many people hold you because it w as so sore but luckily the fluid was gone in 4-5 days!
Your first visitors were Grandma and my dad Pops Harris! Haha! They came the day you were born! I was very sore and in a lot of pain until later in the afternoon so Aaron and Kristine came for a little and both adored you!
Tuesday we had lots more visitors: Dana, Caitlin, Diane, Rita, Phoenix, Rhonda and Mike. Averil and her cutie Hudson also came to visit!
Wednesday we went home and Kathy and little Nate came! Auntie Kathy thought you were the cutest little girl ever! She loves holding and cuddling you!
You had your first dr appointment Friday and it went well! You gained an ounce from your hospital release.
Your sleeping pattern is whack! But so is every newborns! You sleep a lot but wake up a lot to eat too.
One thing I have learned is that breast feeding is hard. It's physically demanding on the mom and often frustrating for both of us. You are much better at it now and we are weening you slowly off of the 4 ounces of formula we had to supplement until my milk came in.
The cats have no idea what your deal is and spent several days in my closet. I finally locked then out and they come up to smell you once in a while. Hopefully you will be best friends soon!
