HALFWAY THERE!! 20 weeks and the Princess's room!

It is still sinking in that I am 20 weeks pregnant, and moreover, that I am halfway through this pregnancy! WOW! This second trimester is flying by!

So, being 20 week pregnant is pretty awesome: I have a legit baby belly, I am halfway there, AND I get to feel baby M kick, roll, and probably punch me in there! Its a weird sensation but I very welcomed one!I cannot wait to feel kicks form the outside!

20 week recap:

Size of baby: A small canteloupe!!
Maternity Clothes: Regular shirts mixed with maternity ones, totally in maternity pants! Pajamas are now an issue so I wear Dan's shirts, and oh yea, my winter coat is getting a bit too snug...
Gender: It's a GIRL!!!!!!!
Movement: Kicks and rolls!! Still not feeling them all the time, but most days I can. Today I felt her all day long while I was teaching!
Sleep: ? What sleep? I go to bed so tired but then wake up a few hours later wired. I finally fall asleep again, then before I know it, it is time to wake up. UGH
What I miss: Wine, sushi, raw oysters, cheese
Cravings: Any sort of fruit! Carrot Cake and Thomas's English Muffins with butter. RANDOM
Symptoms: Baby movement, weird sleep habits, strange cravings, not too much weight gain!

So Sunday my mother in law came over and helped me and Dan paint Baby M's room! It looks great! We are just waiting on a new carpet and then let the serious decorating begin!! I love decorating a little girl's room! I bought her a few onesie's and an outfit or two already! She is going to be cute, cute, cute!!

Here are some pics of the painting fiasco...

baby girl

I still cannot believe that we will be welcoming a BABY GIRL around June 19! WOW!!!!! I am so excited you have no idea! Finding out the gender makes everything seem so much more real now! Before we found out we would think of names or if the little baby will be a boy or girl, there were so many options! Now we KNOW we are having a little girl, and everything seems so much easier now. I can start planning the nursery, we have chosen a name (which will remain a secret for now!), and we know a little bit more to expect.

It will be so amazing to welcome our little girl into this world. Its hard to think about what it will be like, and even though it seems far away, the day will come soon. :)

We are having a girl!

We went to the hospital to have our anatomy scan/ultrasound and everything with Baby M is PERFECT!

We are also happy to report that we are having a healthy little girl!!!!!

We went to the u/s room and the tech was very nice. She began the scan with pics of baby's head (which thankfully is measuring normal and not big...). Then she took pictures of the placenta and other uterine parts. Then she saw a leg and took a pic there, before we knew it Baby M was spread eagle showing everyone she is def a girl! A GIRL!!!!

It's like everything just became a bit more tangible now! We are having a baby, its a girl, we need to pick a name, and her room is being panted on Sunday!

Here she is...

in 20 weeks and 5 days I will be the proud mommy of a little girl!!!

19 weeks and tomorrow is the ULTRASOUND!!

SO today I am 19 weeks pregnant!!! AND tomorrow me and Dan go to the hospital for the big ultrasound/fetal anatomy scan!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKK!

We are both so excited, I don't even know how I sleep at night! EVERYONE thinks boy, everyone, including most of my students. There is a small group of girls who thinks girl, but who knows how tomorrow will go!! I may be decorating the babies bedroom with a lot of pink and leopard print or painting it green and making a pride out of the bedroom with a bunch of lion king stuff!! Either way I will be perfectly happy with a healthy, happy, baby!

Recap:

Size of baby: A cheese covered mango. EW thank you "what to expect when you are expecting", that was a gross image, but hey, there you go...
Maternity Clothes: Regular shirts mixed with maternity ones, totally in maternity pants! Pajamas are now an issue so I wear Dan's shirts, and oh yea, my winter coat is getting a bit too snug...
Gender: I think girl and so does Dan, lots of family and friends think boy!
Movement: Little kicks (I think) and maybe some rolls? Its still hard to tell!
Sleep: Sleeping is weird, sometimes I sleep very well, other times I wake up all the time, and sometimes I cannot get comfortable. I try to sleep on my left side, then end up sleeping on my right, and sometimes end up on my back still...
What I miss: Wine, sushi, raw oysters, cheese
Cravings: Strawberries and beef which is really weird because before a week or so ago, I wanted nothing to do with beef. Even before I was pregnant I did not eat red meat a lot.
Symptoms: Headaches, weird sleeping habits, some little growing pains, possibly some rolling and kicking!

22 weeks to go and counting!

I am 18 weeks pregnant today, just 22 more to go!!
This pregnancy is dragging on and on, but I think it is because we do not know the sex yet. UH! We should be finding out in four days but I had to reschedule the ultrasound because of work. SO, in 8 more days we will have the fetal anatomy scan and hopefully find out if we are having a boy or a girl. I always say I am having girl vibe but all I really want is a healthy baby, boy or girl!! I definitely felt the baby move this week, and possibly last. It felt like a little tapping going on that lasted about 10 seconds. Obviously nothing could be felt from the outside but I think that was baby!

Size of baby: Mango
Total Weight Gain/Loss: +7
Maternity Clothes: Regular shirts mixed with maternity ones, totally in maternity pants!
Gender: I think girl and so does Dan, lots of family and friends think boy!
Movement: I feel some faint drumming going on in there! Def. feel little taps!
Sleep: WEIRD. I still get up once a night but I have weird dreams sometimes. Other times I don't. AND still once in a while I will have a day where I feel the same exhaustion as the first trimester. TERRIBLE!
What I miss: Wine, sushi, raw oysters, cheese
Cravings: Cookies n creme ice cream (which Dan was nice enough to buy for me yesterday) and red meat for some reason. I always hated red meat and did not have it very often, now I can go without chicken.
Symptoms: Weird dreams, some cravings, and a baby bump.

17 weeks pregnant and new job

Today I am 17 weeks pregnant!! I also had my "16" week appointment. So I got a new job and now I teach middle school music. Now since I need to be an early bird, I could not make my regular appointment. I rescheduled and it was today. Baby Moriarty is doing very well and has a heartbeat around 145. I have gained 4 pounds since last month with a total of around +6 now. EW, but on target since I am looking at adding around one lb per week. extra EW. I was very happy to hear a strong heartbeat and to hear that my uterus is the size that it should be. With that being said, my baby bump is growing, and is obvious!! I have been feeling great, no morning sickness, no insomnia, no exhaustion! I dont really even feel pregnant LOL, but thankfully I am!

Size of baby: About the size of a fist
Total Weight Gain/Loss: +6lbs
Maternity Clothes: Regular shirts mixed with maternity ones, totally in maternity pants!
Gender: I think girl and so does Dan, lots of family and friends think boy!
Movement: Maybe a little flutter...
Sleep: I would love to! HAHA, tired all the time
What I miss: sleep, wine, sushi
Cravings: Watermelon.
Symptoms: A growing baby bump!! :) Its totally there now, its like it just appeared over the last few days!!

Now the new job!!! Teaching Middle School is TOTALLY different than I could have imagined AND I actually like it! The kids are fun, respectful, and willing to learn. Of course, with the exception of about 5 kids total, and obviously 4 of them are in one class :/

16 weeks pregnant and new job

Today I am 16 weeks pregnant!!! YAY! Getting closer and closer to the halfway point. 16 down 24 more to go!

So Dec. 23rd I had an interview with Billerica Public Schools for a middle school music job. My interview was at 8am and by 10:30 I got a call from the principal giving me the job offer. I obviously took the offer and I start tomorrow. I waited a while to announce it because it was during vacation and I still had not signed a contract or anything. I still have not done that but the superintendent has been on vacation but after visiting the school today and picking up my keys I start tomorrow. I have a great lesson planned on the star spangled banner (thanks to Jess Vaitkus!). Hopefully they will like it!

I will still be teaching lessons at NMA but I only have students on Mondays so its not a big deal to have two jobs.

I cannot tell you all how much I begged, pleaded, prayed, and begged some more to my teachers at BSC to get me student teaching in a high school and elementary school and that if they put me in middle school I would drop out!! HAHA. Well looks like the tables have turned and I am not a middle school teacher. What am I doing!? MIDDLE SCHOOL?! I am sure it will be lots of fun!!

Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year everyone!!! 2011 was a wonderful year and 2012 is shaping up to be just as amazing!!

Lets recap 2011!

I had a great time with the many friends I met at Longy over the two years I spent there!! We partied, studied, made some beautiful music, and made friendships that will surely last a lifetime!!

In January I was hired to teach voice lesson at Newton Music Academy in Needham. I am still teaching there and I love every minute of it! I love teaching private voice lessons and really enjoy this school! My students are so inspiring and energetic that I love coming to school every time!

April marked one of the best times of my life, my Master's Recital! I sang some amazing music and performed with great friends and fellow musicians. We all know that Samuel Barber's Knoxville, Summer of 1915 was my favorite piece of the evening. I can still listen to this song like I am hearing it for the first time. Its simply beautiful in every facet!

In May came graduation. This day marked the end of the best college days a girl could ask for. I met Kristine who would be my future bridesmaid among many other friends. I was introduced to some amazing mentors and professors who have left their impression on me forever. I am more than blessed to have been able to study with my wonderful voice teacher Anna! She helped me sing better than I ever could have imagined and taught me how to be a better musician.

The summer came really quickly and so began the wedding craziness!!! My bridesmaid Tracy and I made the centerpieces early on, and I am glad we did! The closer it got to the wedding the more I had to do. I am very glad that I kept organized and had a strict timeline that I stuck to!

My bridesmaids and mother in law threw me the best bridal shower ever! They made sure every detail was perfect! I was so surprised at the amount of gifts I got! Everyone was so generous!

SURPRISE, well sort of HAHA! That same night was my bachelorette party!!! Long before this date ever came a certain friend of mine accidentally leaked the info that my bachelorette party and bridal shower were on the same day. oops! I know this person did not mean to but either way it happened!! I knew when it was but I had no idea what or where we were going. I decided to be a good bride and pretend I had no idea that it was later that night so during the whole bridal shower I decided to act like I had no idea!! My act was going well until the end of the party when one of Dan's aunts who did not know it was a surprise blurted it out to everyone. I tried to pretend I didn't hear her but I couldn't hide it! Everyone knew that I knew, and I def knew at this point!!

Despite the lack of surprise, my bachelorette party was soooo much fun!! Tracy, KK, Caitlin, and Kathy rented a limo and decorated it with some really cool decorations, and we went to Boston! We started off with some celebratory wine, champagne, and cherry flavored vodka shots in the limo and headed to "the liquor store". We danced, drank, and had an amazing time!! After that we headed to fanueil hall. I still don't know what club we went to, but I remember having a great time! They had a live band on the 2nd floor and a really good dj on the first floor. Later in the evening was a bit of a blur but I knew we had fun and somehow the next day wasn't terrible!!

My parents in law hosted the rehearsal dinner at one of my favorite restaurants, Run of the Mill Tavern. It was one of my mom's favorite places and we scattered her ashes right outside at Jenney Pond, so in some way she was there for the event. The food was great, the drinks were strong, and the company was A+!

I spent my last night as a single woman at the John Carver Inn in Plymouth with my bestie Sam!! We had so much fun! It was just like old times lol!

August 13 I married my best friend! We had the most PERFECT summer wedding! It was warm but not hot out at all, the weather was simply perfect. Sunny, breezy, and warm. We wrote our own vows, which I was a little hesitant about, but in the end I think it was one of the best choices we made. I really loved Dan's vows and I enjoyed writing mine. I loved getting married in my hometown and especially at Brewster Gardens. It was beautiful! I can't imagine picking a more perfect reception site either!! Everyone at Monponsett was helpful and supportive from the beginning. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a reception site! The wedding coordinators were so nice, the bartenders were amazing, and the head waitress/coordinator for the wedding was really helpful and kind! NOT to mention my simply flawless bridal party and family!!

On October 12th our lives changed forever!! We found out that we are expecting our first baby!! It was the most exciting day of my life!! I was so surprised and happy I couldn't think straight! I am very lucky that my pregnancy had been easy so far! I had some minor morning sickness, a couple of headaches, and  one food aversion. The morning sickness was so minor I only had about 10 days of it total and the days that it happened were not consecutive and the "episodes" did not last more than an hour!! VERY LUCKY!!

8 weeks pregnant

Now I am safely in my second trimester, 15 weeks 6 days pregnant!! My baby bump is growing, and we are coming closer and closer to meeting our bundle of joy!! Me and Dan both think its a girl while our families think boy!! We will find out in January!!

2011 was more than amazing but 2012 is shaping up to be equally as monumental! We have Bobbie-Sue and Dennis's wedding in August, Tracy and Brett's wedding in December, and of course the arrival of Baby Moriarty in June!!
