Baby M's growing wardrobe...

It has been so fun to start shopping for my little baby girl! She already has a cute-as-hell wardrobe! Here are a few key items we have already...

A super cute mini skirt!!

An adorable bathing suit, I mean, she is a summer baby...

and... the CUTEST outfit with her name monogrammed on it! (which will remain a secret until she is born!)

more questions...part 3!

21. Would you rather be a worried genius or a joyful simpleton?
I think anyone who is educated and has a logical brain falls into the "worried genius" category. It kind of stinks to be smart. I am not a genius but I do think I am smarter than your average joe. Anyone smart can see all the problems in their life, community, with this presidential election, and in the world. The simpleton is the lucky one, ignorance is bliss, and sometimes I wish I were dumb quite frankly.

22. Why are you, you?
"Why am I me"? (I hear a musical interlude coming on...) I am who I am because I chose to be me. I am a product of my community, parents, and surroundings, not to mention myself.

23.  Have you been the kind of friend you want as a friend?
I try to be!

24.  Which is worse, when a good friend moves away, or losing touch with a good friend who lives right near you?
I have lost friends on both fronts and either way it stinks, but to know that someone is close by and you cannot get to see them is worse than knowing you cannot because they are in another country.

25.  What are you most grateful for?
My education, my pregnancy, my marriage, my friends, my family, my life!
26.  Would you rather lose all of your old memories, or never be able to make new ones?
AH! Im not sure, it would be terrible to lose my old memories, but it would be worse to not be able to remember my little girl. I think I would chose to lose my old memories...
27.  Is is possible to know the truth without challenging it first?
Yea, some things are obvious...

28.  Has your greatest fear ever come true?
No, my greatest fear has always been to lose my voice and never be able to sing or talk again. Not only would my career be over, but so would my life.
29.  Do you remember that time 5 years ago when you were extremely upset?  Does it really matter now?
4 years ago yes, but 5, no.
30.  What is your happiest childhood memory?  What makes it so special?
I have many happy childhood memories but I have one memory that comes out of many events. My best friend Sam and I used to go fishing every day during the summer for most of our childhood. She would come and stay over my house a lot and we would go fishing in the pond behind my house. We had more fun every time we went out there than we did the last. We caught fish, turtles, frogs, built fires, made forts, and had the most meaningful childhood discussions a kid could ever have. I would never trade those memories for anything.

50 Questions, part two

Here's questions 11-20.

11.  You’re having lunch with three people you respect and admire.  They all start criticizing a close friend of yours, not knowing she is your friend.  The criticism is distasteful and unjustified.  What do you do?
Tell them that that person is my friend and inform them of his or her good qualities and say that they should not talk about people like that.

12.  If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of advice, what would it be?
Be free to make your own decisions and mistakes especially with the big, important stuff. When all is said and done you should have little to no regrets!

13.  Would you break the law to save a loved one?
Yup.

14.  Have you ever seen insanity where you later saw creativity?
Well, for those of you who do not know, I am a musician. I see insanity all the time!

15.  What’s something you know you do differently than most people?
Think. Being a musician lets me see the world differently than most. CUlture, art, politics, and daily life all have a tremendous impact on everything I do while some people are affected by one or two of those aspects or are very narrow scoped in what they allow to influence them.

16.  How come the things that make you happy don’t make everyone happy?
Everyone has a different background and a different future and therefore have different ideals, tastes, and interests. This is what makes the world interesting. If we all had the same interests life would be boring.

17.  What one thing have you not done that you really want to do?  What’s holding you back?
I have always wanted to travel the world and live in Italy. Honestly, finances keep me from traveling all over and that coupled with the fact that I know I would miss my family and friends keeps me from living in Italy. The time I spent in Italy in the summer of 2010 was one of the best times of my life and although the program I was singing in was amazing, it was not because of that. I really enjoyed the Italian lifestyle and the way people lived there. Rome was a great city and Tuscany was more amazing that I could have ever dreamed of! The scenery was breathtaking, the food exquisite, and the wine A+. (Not to mention the nightlife! jeez!)

18.  Are you holding onto something you need to let go of?
Don't we all?

19.  If you had to move to a state or country besides the one you currently live in, where would you move and why?
I would move to Tuscany if I got to move anywhere in the world but if it had to be within the US I would say NYC or Hawaii.

20.  Do you push the elevator button more than once?  Do you really believe it makes the elevator faster?
Sometimes HAHA especially when one doesnt show when I am on my way downstairs to my car in the am after pressing it once and waiting a while.

50 questions, prima parte

I came across this in a friends blog and stole it from her...

50 Questions that will free your mind.
1-10.

1. How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?
21. I feel younger than I am but am reminded of my age because of my real responsibilities!
2.  Which is worse, failing or never trying?
Never trying! If people never tried we would have a world full of nothing!
3.  If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do?
We still have responsibilities and we get bogged down thinking about what we should or need to do instead of what we want to do. I think its a total shame to live this way. I like to think I do what I want when I want, but life gets in the way sometimes...
4.  When it’s all said and done, will you have said more than you’ve done?
Nope, so far my bucket list is quite short.
5.  What is the one thing you’d most like to change about the world?
Id get rid of most corperations.
6.  If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make you rich?
Being able to have a singing and teaching career at the same time.
7.  Are you doing what you believe in, or are you settling for what you are doing?
I believe in what I am doing. I am very happy with my life in just about every way!

8.  If the average human life span was 40 years, how would you live your life differently?
I would have done everything faster life to date. I would do a lot more traveling and less working.

9.  To what degree have you actually controlled the course your life has taken?
Just about every aspect of my life! Even in my childhood I was a rogue child and was hard to control and often did as I pleased.
10.  Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things?
Thats tough, a lot of both. I am worried about making sure everything is done correctly but I often find myself second guessing decisions I will be making. I do think I have god morals but I often cannot decide which route will take me the way  want to go.

Feb. Vacation, 23 Weeks, 4 months to go!

Well folks, its Presidents Day and that means FEBRUARY VACATION for public schools!! Yippee!! I am in desperate need of some time away from those wild kids!! This week I will be doing a lot of errands, getting ready for baby a little, and getting my car fixed. Wah.

Yesterday was a milestone, exactly 4 months to go!! I wish I could say that time is flying, but I feel like it is dragging on! I am exactly 23 weeks pregnant today! I have another OB appointment in 2 weeks then I start going for bi-weekly check-ups! Now that seems crazy since that means I will be just getting into the third trimester at that point! I think the third tri will be a quick one, and hopefully it will! I figure the third tri starts at 28 weeks, which means I then only have 2 weeks until the 30 week milestone, then I will only have between 8-10 weeks left depending if baby M decides she wants out at 38-40 weeks. I for one, hope she comes around 38 weeks because I know every waking moment of the day I will be trying to make that baby come!! I already feel HUGE so I cannot imagine what I will feel like at 40 weeks! Yikes!

I cannot wait to not be pregnant anymore. I hate my wardrobe, or the lack thereof. Nothing out of my regular clothes fit anymore and maternity clothes are BUTT UGLY no matter what. Its a daily struggle to find something to wear. This pregnancy has been a breeze, so I really cannot complain! I know so many people who have terrible symptoms or end up on bed rest, so I consider myself very lucky to have had an easy pregnancy thus far!

As far as baby goes:
***How Far Along: 23 Weeks
Size of baby: Around 11 inches long and weighs just over 1lb! Around the size of a large mango!

Gender: Girl!!!!!
Movement: Lots of movement around bedtime and mid day! She is a little ballerina in the making!
Sleep: ? I toss and turn a lot and often wind up on my back somehow, then I have to turn over. This happens a few times a night. At least the weird dreams have gone away!
What I miss: Wine, sushi, regular clothing
Cravings: Fruit, chicken, anything from Anna's Taqueria!
Symptoms: A huge baby bump! I feel massive already!

22 weeks prego!

Nope, I didn't forget to blog...I am 22 weeks pregnant as of Monday!! Yippee, and as of today I have 17 weeks and 5 days left, but who is counting?!?!?!?! LOL

This past week has been a truly pregnant week, I look huge and I had my first Braxton Hicks contractions. Those are not fun! SOOOOO Monday I got this terrible crampy feeling, like our monthy cramps, but it went away just as fast as it came so I wrote it off as pregnancy pain. Then not too much later the same feeling came, and then again in another 10 minutes. It happened a few times within the hour but then went away completely. I was in the middle of teaching so I just dealt with it, and since it went away I didn't worry. But as soon as my prep period came I called the dr and she said they were Braxton Hicks contractions. PHEW! They weren't TERRIBLY painful but they were painful enough that I noticed them enough to be slightly concerned. Hopefully I don't have many more of those!! (wishful thinking ;))

I feel like my baby bump grows immensely every day! I feel massive and I am just past halfway there!

This week, baby is as big as a "spaghetti squash"!!! She is now about 11.5 inches long and weighs about 1lb! I am feeling kicks much more often now, and they are definitely kicks!!! There are still some days where I don't feel her as much, but its totally normal!

Size of baby: The length of a spaghetti squash, about 1lb!
Maternity Clothes: Regular shirts mixed with maternity ones, totally in maternity pants! Pajamas are now an issue so I wear Dan's shirts, and oh yea, my winter coat is too small now. I have found that my 1st/2nd trimester skinny jeans I bought are a bit too snug in the waist now. Looks like its on to ugly maternity pants!
Gender: It's a GIRL!!!!!!! Little baby M with a secret name!
Movement: Kicks and rolls!! Still not feeling them all the time, but most days I can, but much more often than before.
Sleep: Whats that? I am super tired all the time again and don't sleep well sometimes. Other times I sleep VERY well!
What I miss: Wine, sushi, raw oysters, cheese, regular clothing, high heels!
Cravings: fruit:strawberries and pineapple.
Symptoms: Baby movement, weird sleep habits, strange cravings, a big growing bump!

Saint Valentin, la première partie

Happy Valentines Day everyone!! This post is a little late but we were super busy being lovebirds and celebrating Valentines Day!

First off, I went to work and got a little Hersey kiss in my mailbox from the homework club! CUTE! Then a few students gave me Valentines Day cards and candy! They really know how treat an expectant mommy! It was super adorable!

Then I came home and started making Dan's surprise Valentines Day present, a homemade Mexican dinner. We both love Mexican food so I decided to buy a bottle of Champagne and make black bean and cheese enchiladas. They were amazing if I may say so! ;) Dan was very surprised and he LOVED his dinner and the wine! He surprised me with a bouquet of red roses and reservations to a very nice restaurant this weekend! We both work, and I work pretty early, so we decided that doing our real Valentines Day dinner would be better left for the weekend!

I will be sure to blog about our date this weekend, AND include some pics!

26th (I mean 25th) Birthday

Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday Dear meeeee! HAPPY BIRTHDAY to me.

Well, if you haven't guessed, it was my birthday yesterday!! I am a whopping 26 years old! eeek!!

Being 25 was lots of fun, LOTS of milestones happened: I graduated from Longy, I got married, and I got pregnant!!! It was a whirlwind year and being 26 is shaping up to be even more crazy!!

Giving birth to our little baby girl is going to be amazing!! I am so excited to have my own little girl!

It has been a great birthday weekend! Friday Dan took me to Kathmandu Spice, a Nepalese restaurant in Arlington. We had been meaning to go there for months but never had. We were very pleased! The food was excellent!

Saturday, my actual Birthday, we slept in, got a new carpet installed in the baby's room (pics to follow), Dan got me a cake, bought me some clothes, and we went bowling at Lanes and Games later that night.

Later on, me and Dan went to his parents house where they threw me a mini birthday party! We had a delicious home cooked dinner (it was even better since I didnt make it!!) AND we had both cake and ice cream! YUM! Both Dan's parents and his grandparents were very kind and got me a few gifts! THANK YOU!!!

Next weekend will be a slight continuation of the birthday saga... I will get to see Tracy and Kathy!!

Baby M and dr visit

Today I had another visit with my OB, and per usual Baby M is doing sooo well. She is perfect, even though she likes to hide from the doppler! She even kicked me so hard I think I felt it from the outside!!! Her heartbeat is in the 140's and she is measuring perfectly!!

I have another appointment in 4 weeks, then I start seeing my OB every TWO WEEKS!! wow!! I knew it was coming, but it was a shocker! I can't believe that I am that far along that I will need to see my Ob every 2 weeks!

Me and Dan are going to a seminar in March to meet all of the OB dr's at the hospital we will be delivering at. I love my ob, but I know the chances are slim that she will be there when I deliver. Uh. Dr. Macdonald has been great even before I got pregnant I really liked her. Everyone in her office has been great. I am sort of ok with the other dr I see sometimes, but there is one dr there who I really just don't like. AH! I guess I am just really not comfortable with myself being on display for half the hospital, especially since I won't be on my best behavior either!! ;)

Today the dr mentioned taking childbirth education classes and other classes to take. I want to take the breastfeeding class but childbirth? I really just want to know how to get the most pain meds to be quite honest! I have done lots of reading so I already know a lot of the risks, complications, and about routine labor.

I am definitely going to get re-certified in first-aid and CPR and I am going to make Dan do it too. Its just a good idea anyways!!

21 weeks pregnant!!!

Well, the Pats bombed the superbowl, but w/e cause spring training starts VERY soon!!!

This weekend was a dousy! Saturday me and Dan went to my friend Tracy's birthday get together at Patriot Place! It was a lot of fun to see Tracy, and discuss the baby and her wedding plans! She has a b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l dress picked out (I saw pics)!!! I loved hanging out, but I feel lame since I can't drink, not that I need to drink to have a good time, and I always go to bed super early so 10pm seems late these days. Oh, being prego!!!

Then, of course, Sunday was a day of chores and Superbowl watching. Halfway through the game I started feeling terrible, so as soon as it was over we went to bed. Probably a pregnancy side affect, but I really felt horrible! I was uber tired, sick to my stomach, and really irritated. HORMONES!!

Being pregnant is a whirlwind! One day I feel fantastic, the next I feel terrible. Mostly I feel great so I cannot really complain. I do get nervous that something is always wrong tho. (Turning into my mother!) I love feeling her kick, and when she doesnt it makes me nervous, meanwhile she is just sleeping or resting. I can feel her almost everyday now, so on the one or two days a week that I don't feel her kick it makes me nervous. One day she was kicking so much I thought she was having a party in there!

21 Weeks!! MORE than halfway there!!! 134 more days!!!

We made our baby registry at Babies r us this weekend, which was a lot of fun! Dan and I both enjoyed picking stuff out for her (even thought he needed to test out a rocking chair for 30 minute while I finished it up, hehe)

The biggest event of the weekend was my good friend Betsy gave birth to her beautiful son Xavier!! If all goes well and right with my pregnancy I will be bale to fly to Ohio in April to visit her and meet baby Xavier!!! HE IS SO CUTE!!!

I have another Dr. appointment tomorrow, hopefully we are both super healthy!!

Here is my 21 week update!

Your baby now weighs about three-quarters of a pound and is approximately 10 1/2 inches long — the length of a carrot. You may soon feel like she's practicing martial arts as her initial fluttering movements turn into full-fledged kicks and nudges. You may also discover a pattern to her activity as you get to know her better.

Size of baby: The length of a medium carrot!
Maternity Clothes: Regular shirts mixed with maternity ones, totally in maternity pants! Pajamas are now an issue so I wear Dan's shirts, and oh yea, my winter coat is too small now
Gender: It's a GIRL!!!!!!!
Movement: Kicks and rolls!! Still not feeling them all the time, but most days I can. I am going to give birth to a ninja!
Sleep: ? What sleep? I go to bed so tired but then wake up a few hours later wired. I finally fall asleep again, then before I know it, it is time to wake up. UGH
What I miss: Wine, sushi, raw oysters, cheese
Cravings: Any sort of fruit! Chocolate frosting, not even homemade, but the kind you buy at the store. yuck
Symptoms: Baby movement, weird sleep habits, strange cravings, not too much weight gain!

Groundhogs Day

Who actually believes that the cute little furry groundhog can ACTUALLY predict what the weather will be like for the next 6 weeks? The poor guy is dragged out of his comfy home and out into the cold and is then gawked at by hundred of people who decide if he saw his shadow or not.

Well anyways, if we DO have to endure another 6 weeks, or at this point 6 weeks total, of winter then so be it. I just hope we have at least one snow day along the way! (I will not be making them up since I will be on maternity leave!)

Baby Moriarty is still in there rolling around and kicking. I am beginning to feel her more and more now. Tuesday she was super active and it was like she was pushing off with her arms on my right side then kicking off from the left side over and over, she is a wild child already!

I have started to make a baby registry at babies r us and will (hopefully) finish it up this weekend sometime. We will also be registering at Target. They both seems to have good prices and have everything you might possibly need. Picking out little girl things is so much fun! I have to admit that I have bought her a few little outfits including a cute Ralph Lauren sundress and a cream colored, velour Juicy Couture sweatsuit. She will be looking like Kim Kardashian! I have discovered that Marshalls and TJMaxx have GREAT deals on baby clothes, even better than getting the same products at the brand name store on sale! PLUS their infant clearance section almost always has clothes for $4 or less. I even found a few onesies for $1 and even one for $0.70! If only they had good clothes for women at that price.

SO as you may have seen, Baby M's room is a light/bright green and is super cute! I think I am going to decorate her other room accessories in pink including the curtains, curtain rod, and area rug (which I have found is a necessity to have right under/around the changing table area to prevent stains on the actual carpet. not to mention many area rugs can be machine washable if you get the right kind!)

We have settled on a name for little Princess M, but it is a secret, at least for now ;)  It is a more unique name but not totally unheard of! We may reveal it at the baby shower or wait until our princess arrives! Probably the latter!

Oh btw, I am 100% obsessed with Pinterest! I am on it more than facebook, can you believe it?
