Today is St. Paddy's day and I am also 17 weeks pregnant today! WOOOHOOOO! The countdown rolls on!
In honour of St. Pat's I am making Irish Soda Bread and a traditional boiled dinner (one of my favourites)! Our friend Aimee is coming over to have diner with us and celebrate Irish style. Normally I would be chugging Guinesses, throwing back Irish car bombs, and sipping on Irish whiskey but alas, I am pregnant and can only dream for the second St. Paddy's in a row!
I have a confession: I have never been to the St. Paddy's day parade in Southie! GASP!!!! I know, that is terrible. I think I am going to make a point to go next year.
In other news, I am 17 weeks pregnant today! Our anatomy scan is next week on the 26th and hopefully if baby M cooperates we can find out his or her gender! I think I am voting for Team Blue this time around. This pregnancy is way different from when I was pregnant with Cailin in every possible way. Last time literally everyone thought I was pregnant with a boy, this time everyone seems to think girl with a few exceptions. We shall see!
I am happy to say that my morning sickness is just about gone. Every once in a while I still get a queesy feeling and have to lie down but it is no where as bad as it was and I have been off the Zofran for about two weeks now. UGH. I was so lucky to not have any morning sickness when I was pregnant with Cailin and I think I made up for it x2 this time around. TERRIBLE!
Now that that has passed I have been experiencing a wide range of other unwanted pregnancy symptoms: backache, pelvic pain, wacky dreams, oh my! I am also thankful that the dizziness has gone away as well. My next OB appointment isn't until April 5 so I have almost three weeks, boo. I actually enjoy going mainly because I like hearing the heartbeat and checking in on him or her!
Cailin has her 9 month appointment tomorrow. Unfortunately she is getting two shots. Poor baby! It is also her 9 month birthday! I am happy to say I can finally fit all of her hair into two pigtails! LOVE!
