I am terribly sorry for not updating more regularly but life has been hectic.
School is off to a great start and my students are wonderful, overall, this term. I have one class that is a it of trouble but otherwise everything is a breeze! We start learning guitars later this week!
We went to my grandparents in Plattsburgh, NY this past weekend and it was really nice to see everyone. My cousin Nate has a steady girlfriend, my Grandfather is still rambunctious as hell, but my Gramma is really losing it. Her cognition is terrible. She barely knows who she is, she doesnt know who anyone else is, and she cannot function on her won. Dementia has taken its toll. She even has a little stuffed chicken as a toy. It is truly sad but all in all she still looks happy which is all I care about. She never seemed sad or frustrated and was generally complacent. Both my grandparents and Nate got to hold Cailin and spend some time with her. She really liked my Gramma and Nate and was good with Papa too.
The ride home was terrible as Cailin cried a lot of the way. What can you expect from a 3.5 month old? But it was still sad.
Cailin is getting so big! She can roll from front to back and back to front but not both in a row yet. She has also discovered that she has feet and she is obsessed with them.
On another note, Cailin went to the doctors because of some vomiting and spit up and they recommended less breast feeding because of reflux. It wasn't an urgent switch to formula so I was able to ween her a bit. I was also able to pump and save some breast milk which I will mix with some cereal down the line. Many doctors recommend adding cereal to an infants formula to thicken it but mine did not agree. She doesnt think adding the cereal is ok for infants under 4 months. All in all she likes the formula and she likes drinking out of the bottles. I could be sad about it but I think it's for the best. She needs good nutrition that her body can handle and formula is the best option.
